Climate Change

Climate Change refers to significant alterations in global temperatures and weather patterns over time. While climate change is a natural phenomenon, the term is often used to describe the recent rapid changes in climate attributed to human activities, primarily the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes that increase concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHGs) in the Earth’s atmosphere. These GHGs trap heat, leading to a warming effect known as global warming, which results in various environmental impacts such as rising sea levels, increased frequency of extreme weather events, habitat loss, and shifts in biodiversity. Climate change poses challenges for natural ecosystems and human societies, influencing agriculture, water resources, health, and infrastructure. Addressing climate change requires coordinated global efforts to reduce emissions, enhance sustainable practices, and adapt to its effects.
