School Resource Officer

A School Resource Officer (SRO) is a sworn law enforcement officer assigned to a school or school district. Their primary role is to ensure the safety and security of students and staff, as well as to foster a positive relationship between law enforcement and the school community. SROs often engage in crime prevention, provide law-related education to students, and serve as a resource for school officials on safety issues. They may also respond to emergencies, investigate incidents on school grounds, and engage in community-building activities. Ideally, SROs play a proactive role in creating a safe school environment while building trust with students and faculty.
